The Scottish Downer

I read Billy Shakespeare‚Äôs “Macbeth” once in high school back in 1983, and for some strange reason this quote has been burned into my mind ever since. I have no idea why. (If only I could say the same about Scripture.)

But you know, now that I think of it… if life really does signify nothing and there is no meaning behind it, why would Macbeth make such a big deal? I mean, why would he even notice life had no meaning if life has no meaning?

Thoughts?
